Stunning yet quite easy  riding along the West Coast trail up to Cowboys Paradise and back to to Hokitika, a really cool , slightly touristy place looking out to the Tasman sea. The ride is through native woodland , a bit like the timber trail, and then down along old water channels back to the coast. Passed a few blue reservoirs with the mountains behind…great day out.  Cowboys Paradise is a weird half derelict pretend wild west town where you can stay, trip advisor, the owner seems to be well known  for his alternative way of life to put it politely. We met a girl who stayed there, though,  and she said it was fine. Hokitika was a sunny relaxed relaxed seaside place, so we stayed an extra day to enjoy it and to align with some bad weather forecast ahead.
